A Holiday Wish, founded by Paul K. Cullen in November 2005, is a non-political organization dedicated to supporting our troops overseas. We ask you to take a few minutes to send a card or letter expressing your thanks, prayers, and appreciation to the men and women serving in the US military for their sacrifice and service. Especially on holidays. When military personnel receive a card, being more than 7,000 miles from home and fighting for our country, it means a lot to them.
BACKGROUND ABOUT THE FOUNDERI have been a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. My twin brother, Reed, and father, are also members of the Shrine and Scottish Rite. The Shrine and Scottish Rite are christian organizations dedicated to charitable giving. The Shrine founded Shriners Hospital for Children and has other Shriner Hospitals that focus on treating patients with cancer, burns, and spinal cord related injuries. A lot of the members of the Masonic Lodge, the Shrine, and Scottish Rite are US Veterans.
Over the last several years, I have come in contact with many US service men and women at VA Hospitals, nursing homes, and military facilities. Many have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and WWII. When I met Staff Sergeant Sean ODowd and Corporal Christopher Seidl, US Army, I knew it was time for me to start A Holiday Wish. Staff Sergeant Sean ODowd served our country in Afghanistan and Corporal Christopher served in Iraq. They are truly heroes.
